6 Knowledge Bombs Learned From Reading "You Are A Badass At Making Money"

I have always struggled with my mindset when it comes to money. Instead of seeing it as an outlet that allows me to have options in life, I saw it as a burden that often held me back from being able to do and get what I wanted. While I've read books and watch tons of videos from self-help gurus to try and push past some of my money blocks, I couldn't connect with the "fluff." I love content that makes me feel good just like the next person, but I needed something that would force me to sit down and get to the root of my issues, provide me with practical advice and a little dose of inspiration.

If you're apart of our weekly newsletter, The Weekly Three, then you know that I found all that and more within in Jen Sincero's latest book "You Are A Badass At Making Money." A follow-up to her best selling self-help book, "You Are A Badass", Jen walks you through how you can begin to push past your money blocks and begin to master the mindset of wealth. I STAN for this book and recommend it to anyone who feels that they may have the slightest issues with money! Since this month we're talking all about money here on the LOE site, I wanted to share a few things that this book has taught me and how it has changed my life for the better.

So often we spend time focusing on what we don't have, focusing on what we feel that we are unable to do and what we don't know, that we completely bypass and downsize the incredible gifts we have been given that could not only help us to truly live a fulfilling life and get us out of our money rut. In the book, Jen encourages you to tap into your gifts and begin to take action towards the life you crave.

"Time wasted rationalizing the mediocre could be time spent creating the magnificent." - Jen Sincero

One of the causes of our money blocks that Jen mentions is the fact that the way we view those who desire more money is often in bad taste. They just want a mansion and a huge yacht, they are greedy or they don't value what's important. When honestly, money is simply a gateway that helps us to live the life that we have always desired without the stress, anxiety and burden that comes from not having enough of it.

"RICH: Able to afford all the things and experiences required to fully experience your most authentic life." - Jen Sincero

Your words and thoughts have power. And the first step to fixing your relationship with money is being intentional about what you are saying and thinking. What you say is what you become and what you think is what you begin to believe. Stopping a negative thought or watching what you say literally has the power to completely reshape not only your confidence but your money story.

"Your thoughts inspire emotions that inspire action that forms your "reality".

- Jen Sincero

In the book, Jen mentions "Universal Intelligence" as a higher power that we can tap into to begin believing bigger about money. You may call it being spiritual but I believe it to be God. According to Jen, money is energy. You have to be willing to get up and do what needs to be done to get the money and leave the result of your work up to your faith.

The key to becoming rich, is to connect that desire with a greater purpose. Yes, we all want more money but WHY? For me, just saying "I want to be rich," wasn't enough to actually motivate me to change my thinking and get up and take action. But once I connected that desire with eventually being able to retire my mother comfortably and being in a position where my husband could quit his job to pursue his business, it was like a light bulb went off and immediately made me want to work harder.

This hit me like a ton of bricks! So often we blame our lack on everything, everyone and every situation but ourselves. But for the most part, we are in charge of reaching our fullest potential. When I read this quote, "You can have your excuses or you can have success. You can't have both. Whichever outcome you train your mind on dictates the reality you see before you," it made me realize that a lot of why I wasn't where I felt like I was supposed to be wasn't because of my circumstances or the fact that I was looked over, it was because of the limitations that I put on myself. It switched the way I looked at my circumstances, instead of looking at what I couldn't do as a burden it made me think of possible solutions.

If you struggle with your relationship with money, I highly suggest grabbing this book! Not only does Jen drop major gems that will help you get your mindset in a good place, but she also provides actions steps and affirmations throughout the book to help you begin to see real results. Yes this book is motivational but it is also the kick in the butt that you need to begin taking real action. You can grab your copy of "You Are A Badass At Making Money" by Jen Sincero on Amazon.
