EP 58: How Elise Cripe Built A Brand Around Actionable Goal Setting
This week I chat with Elise Cripe, founder of Get To Work Book, a day planner and goal setting journal! In this episode we chat about how she got her online career started over a decade ago where she shared her DIY projects, she takes us through her exact process of how she was able to get the Get To Work Book produced, she shared her advice on setting actionable goals and more! Elise currently resides in San Diego, California with her husband and two young daughters, she hosts a weekly podcast, elise gets crafty, that focuses on creative small businesses! and she recently wrote a book about goal-setting that will be published by Chronicle Books in fall 2019. I am so so excited for you guys to hear this episode!
ON STARTING HER DIY BLOG BACK IN 2005
Elise began blogging back when it was considered an online journal. it eventually led to her monetizing her space through sponsored ads and an Etsy shop where she sold her own prints. Around 2009 she also introduced online classes for other creatives!
ON SHIFTING FROM HER PERSONAL BLOG TO CREATING THE GET TO WORK BOOK
In Fall 2014, Elise gave a speech at World Domination Summit where she talked about goal setting. From that she realized that she was truly passionate about helping people to set and reach their goals. From there to Get To Work Book was born. She also knew that she wanted to build the brand that wasn’t directly associated with herself unlike her personal blog.
ON SEPARATING YOURSELF FROM THE BRAND YOU’RE BUILDING
Elise started with creating separate social accounts for the brand so that it had its own space. She also made sure that the about page on the website spoke more about the brand and what it is rather than it being all about her as the founder.
